An investor may apply for the Egyptian citizenship, if they follow one of the following programs:
Donation: Make a non-refundable donation to the local government in the amount of $250,000 USD thru a bank transfer.
Real Estate Investment: Make a minimum investment of $500,000 USD in a government-approved real estate project.
Business Investment: Make a minimum investment of $400,000 USD in a regulated company, with the transfer sourced from abroad and the foreign investor’s share in the company cannot be less than 40%.
Bank Deposit Option One: $750,000 USD; refundable after 5 years in the local currency, without interest.
Bank Deposit Option Two: $1 million USD; refundable after 3 years in the local currency, without interest.
The amounts listed in the bank deposit options must be deposited into a special account, under the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) treasury.
Eligibility Requirements:
The main applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
Children must be under the age of 21
Obtain an Egyptian passport (citizenship) for life. The main applicant and financially dependent children receive the passport first, and the spouse(s) after two years.
The processing time for the passport is between 6 to 9 months.
Dual Citizenship: Persons who become naturalized Egyptian citizens may keep their original nationality, if the other country permits it.
